Brian Johnson

Brian Johnson joined the Jacobsen Hardy Golf Course Design team in July 2005 after spending four years as a design associate with Cornish, Silva & Mungeam Golf Course Design. Johnson graduated from Iowa State University and received a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture in the Spring of 2001. While at Iowa State he completed the school's first Landscape Architecture Undergrad Thesis, "The Three Schools of Golf Course Design," which took him to Scotland, the birthplace of golf. There he photographed, sketched and played 16 of the great links courses, learning the characteristics that make them classics.

Johnson has worked in all facets of the golf industry. This work includes golf course maintenance in Wisconsin, golf course construction in Florida and golf course design in Illinois, Massachusetts and Texas. He has worked on all aspects of golf course design from the initial routing and strategy phases to the development of construction documents. Brian's main responsibilities include developing all course design drawings, both preliminary and final.
